Beach Volleyball Hall to Kick Off

A fundraiser for the Beach Volleyball Hall of Fame in Hermosa Beach is set for Nov. 18.

As Hermosa Beach prepares to make beach volleyball history, residents are invited to celebrate.

Since 1992, the California Beach Volleyball Association has inducted athletes into its Hall of Fame, which has never had a permanent home—until now.

The CBVA has planned for the to house the Hall's first location, and a party has been set for Nov. 18 to raise money for the project.

"The kick-off party will honor a handful of inductees and unveil a nostalgic photo display, as well as a beach volleyball highlight video," according to the CBVA Facebook page. "This will probably be the first time this group of greats has ever been in the same room together, so it should make for a very special night."

The event will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. in the . Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for children.

Kevin Cleary, who serves on the CBVA board of directors and Hall of Fame committee, told The Beach Reporter that the committee aims to open the Hall this spring.
