Communication on Council Agenda

The Hermosa Beach City Council is to discuss updating zoning code to include provisions for communication services, as well as vote on adopting a public smoking ban.

Despite it being Election Day, the Hermosa Beach City Council will meet Tuesday night to hold a public hearing regarding communication offices (such as TV or radio stations), where they're zoned to operate in town, and whether the zoning code should be amended (see accompanying city staff report under photo.)

The council will vote on adopting a . Council members in their previous meeting in most public spaces, including Pier Plaza, public parking lots, the Strand, greenbelt, and other city parks.

The council will discuss the city's Volunteers In Policing program, as well as whether to allow the Hermosa Beach Education Foundation to use the parking lot for its annual event on March 24.

The panel also will discuss its meeting schedule for the next year.

The council meeting is Tuesday at 7 p.m. in council chambers.
