Hermosan Wins Fiesta Hermosa Logo Design Contest

Priscila Bara won her first design contest as a 7-year-old.

Freelance designer Priscila Bara has won the Fiesta Hermosa Logo Design contest sponsored by the Hermosa Beach Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau.

The Hermosa Beach resident's design was selected from nearly 40 entries and will be used on Fiesta Hermosa event banners and other collateral materials, said Matt Bennett of the chamber. Bara also received a free year’s membership in the chamber for her winning entry.

Bara's design work is extensive, having created all sorts of materials for the likes of Skechers, Neutrogena, Creative Teaching Press, Spin Master and Univision Network, to name a few. Her work spans industries that include music, fashion and toys.

She is originally from Brazil, where she won a children's contest as a 7-year-old, prompting her drawing to become a stamp for the Brazilian Post Office. Bara says the honor served as early inspiration for her artistic creativity.

“Hermosa Beach is just perfect," she said, when contacted about the Fiesta Hermosa win. "I love the awesome beach, surf, volleyball, and I think it’s just the cutest place in California! It's really an honor for me to contribute to my city and have my logo selected for Fiesta Hermosa.”
