Viva Cinco de Mayo in Hermosa Beach

Patch lists upcoming Cinco de Mayo events and traditions to hit Hermosa Beach on the holiday.

With May just around the corner, Hermosa Beach soon will be sizzling with festive fun in observance of Cinco de Mayo.

The holiday, which commemorates the Mexican Army's victory over French forces in the 1862 Battle of Puebla, has evolved to become an annual celebration of Mexican heritage and culture in the U.S. Here are a few ways you can take part in the tradition:

Visit , to celebrate Cinco de Mayo on May 5 with festive eats and one of the 16 different margarita drinks featured on its menu. 

The bar's margarita list includes the Cadillac 18K margarita, which mixes Cazadores Reposado, triple sec, sweet and sour, and Grand Marnier, and the Don Julio platinum margarita, which blends agave nectar and fresh-squeezed lime with Don Julio tequila blanco.

Party at Pancho's

The Los Angeles Lakers girls dance team, Fox Sports Radio Live, food and live music will be a part of the next door in Manhattan Beach on May 5. Beach Cities residents are invited.

Quince de Mayo

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo on May 15 at the 8th annual Beach Cities Sister City associations' fundraiser in neighboring Redondo Beach at . The event, which includes Mexican food, tequila shots, and a silent auction, benefits the three Beach Cities—Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach—and their sister cities.

Hermosa's sister city is the Mexican town of Loreto; Manhattan Beach's is San Rosalia, Mexico; and Redondo Beach's sister cities include Ensenada, Mexico and La Paz, Mexico.
