ZBoard Zips Through Hermosa Beach

The new electric skateboard is born here in town.

A new skateboard creation that created a buzz during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last month was designed in Hermosa Beach.

The ZBoard is the world's first, weight-sensing electric skateboard, according to the product's Facebook page.

Here is how it works: since the skateboard senses your weight, you lean forward to go and lean back to stop. The board has a top speed of 17 miles per hour.
