Coachella 2013 Dates, Ticket Sales Announced

The Valley's major music festival will again be held over two weekends in mid-April, while advance tickets go on sale later this week.

Coachella will remain a two-weekend event in 2013, with advance tickets on sale this Thursday—one year ahead of the popular festival.  Goldenvoice announced Monday morning, just a month after this year's concert concluded, that the 2013 event will be held April 12 to 14, and again April 19 to 21. Advance tickets for both weekends will go on sale on the concert website. According to the site, this window for advance sales will only be open through Thursday, May 24, at 10 a.m. The sale will be the only time the new Coachella Purchase Plan will be offered, organizers said. 'The Voice' After Party Rocks Saint Rocke Stage

An after concert party took place at Saint Rocke in Hermosa Beach Wednesday after The Voice season finale. The concert featured more than a dozen contestants from season two of The Voice, including Tony Vincent, Jamie Lono, Anget Taylor and more, according to a report on Buddy TV. The event was organized by by Team Cee Lo’s Justin Hopkins—a resident of Redondo Beach—and Team Adam's Pip.

It's the 4-F of Hermosa Beach, Fat Face Fenner's Fishack. A goodly looking pub from the Pier Plaza - we haven't gone inside. The box is attached to the upstairs frontage looking out over the plaza. Landmark Hermosa: The Bottle Inn

The stained glass window is the front of the cozy restaurant at 26 22nd St.

Due to a technical difficulty, this did not post Friday night, like it was supposed to. Our apologies. One of the truly fun things about being a guest editor for this site is this feature. I caught this picture after an extended walk along the beach.  But, alas, they were closed when I came by so I did not go in. However, when I checked the restaurant's website, I had to check the wine list - what can I say, I'm a wine geek. Wow. Can't wait to drag the beloved spouse in here. Congratulations to Carol Russell for guessing correctly. And to John Wayne Miller, who was about to guess, but instead acknowledged Ms. Russell for hers. Landmark Hermosa: Saint Rocke

Today's landmark is one of the windows at the famed local nightclub.

Saint Rocke is a major player when it comes to Hermosa Beach's music scene. So we wanted to give it a nod. This is a closeup of one of the windows facing Pacific Coast Highway outside the club.  The Spazmatics will be there tomorrow night at 9 p.m. Congratulations to Ryan Nowicki, who correctly guessed the answer. Youth Theatre Gets Footloose Starting Tonight

Puttin On Productions mounts the teen musical opening tonight at the Hermosa Beach Community Center.

Local teens are getting a chance to strut their stuff in a new production of the stage musical Footloose, produced by theatre company Puttin On Productions. The show opens tonight for a five-show run over the weekend. According to company executive director Julia Mirkovich, the cast is made up of 25 teens between the ages of 14 and 20 years old. "You watch them, I can't believe they're teen agers," Mirkovich said about the cast. She picked the show not only as a crowd-pleaser, but also because it was something the kids are familiar with. "Most of the shows we pick, the kids don't know," Mirkovich said. "But we do a few shows that they're familiar with."
