City to Light Holiday Tree

The annual holiday tree lighting will take place during First Thursdays.


Hermosa Beach’s holiday tree will shine bright Thursday as the annual kicks off during First Thursdays.

The tree will light up at 6 p.m. at the foot of the , according to the .

Along with carolers from Mira Costa High School and the Hermosa View School ukulele band, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be attendance (just look out for the Hermosa fire truck serving as their sleigh.)

The Hermosa Beach Woman’s Club will serve hot cocoa during the festivities and singers from Puttin’ on Production’s White Christmas, the Irving Berlin musical, will perform. The musical is set to open at the Hermosa Beach Playhouse on Dec. 9.

Hermosa Beach residents are encouraged to bring unwrapped toys to the tree as donated gifts for the annual Beach Cities Toy Drive.

If this happens annually, I would love to go down this year to witness the lighting ceremony. I do not think it will be as grand as New York or any large city, but it will be meaningful nonetheless. Donating presents to children will be my main priority the holidays. - http://www.holidaysintheuk.com
