Gas Prices Down a Smidge

According to the Auto Club price average, prices have dropped as much as 6 cents, but not in Hermosa Beach.

The average price of gasoline in Los Angeles County declined today for the 13th time in 14 days, dropping a half-cent to $4.324 for a gallon of self-serve regular. The  region's average price has decreased 6.2 cents over the past 14 days, including six-tenths of a cent on both Monday and Tuesday.

According to the Automobile Club (AAA) website, gasoline at Hermosa Beach's two stations sits on either side of the average, with gas at the Arco station, 1131 Pacific Coast Highway, reported at $4.22 a gallon, and at the Mobil station, 931 Pacific Coast Highway, $4.46 a gallon. The Arco's price reflects a drop of 2 cents per gallon from two weeks ago, while the Mobil's price has held steady from that time.

The region's average price is 3.7 cents less than a week ago and 5.3 cents lower than one month ago but 24.6 cents more than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
