Gas Prices Rising Again

After declining for several days, gas prices in Southern California have gone up again.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose one-tenth of a cent today to $4.366, ending a stretch of four consecutive decreases.

According to the Automobile Club (AAA) website, gasoline at Hermosa Beach's two stations sits on either side of the average, with gas at the Arco station, 1131 Pacific Coast Highway, reported at $4.26 a gallon, and at the Mobil station, 931 Pacific Coast Highway, $4.46 a gallon.

The average price dropped 2.1 cents over the previous four days and 3.4 cents in a 10-day period marked by eight days of decreases. It is now 1.9 cents less than a week ago, but 5.3 cents more than one month ago and 34.3 cents higher than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
