Hermosans Head to the Ball Field

The Hermosa Beach Little League celebrates the start of the season, and local students prepare for an art contest.

Families get to see the renovated Clark Field and students prepare for an art show. Here are three family-friendly happenings hitting Hermosa Beach this weekend.

Opening Day

The will celebrate the start of its season Saturday at the newly renovated Clark Field. Community members and families are invited to , which will begin around 10:30 a.m.

Hip parents can sneak away to The Mint Salon on 14th Street this Saturday night for a . The Redondo Beach-based artist will be showing images of neon signs. There will also be live music and (just in case the kids tag along) grilled cheese. The event kicks off at 7 p.m. and ends at 11 p.m.

Student Art Show

All Hermosa Beach students are invited to participate in the Monday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Clark Building. Artwork will be displayed and judged. The competition winner will continue to a district contest, where the winner of that challenge will continue to the California Federation of Woman’s Clubs art contest in May.

All Hermosa students interested in participating can submit artwork and an entry form (see accompanying documents) to their school’s office.
