Landmark Hermosa: Greenbelt Exercise Signs

If you guessed the Timberform exercise stations on the Greenbelt for this morning's trivia, you were right.

Health and fitness are an important part of the beach lifestyle. From the surf to the Strand, there are endless options for Hermosans to stay active and fit.

One of the most popular workouts, though, are done along , a 3.7-mile stretch of soft wood chip from Redondo Beach to Manhattan Beach.

Locals hail the Greenbelt as one of . The outdoor path is also equipped with workout stations giving a total body workout for its runners.

Hermosa nonprofits like , the , Arts Foundation and Neighborhood Watch, combined their efforts to donate each fitness station to the Greenbelt in 2007, shortly after the city celebrated its centennial anniversary.

Unveiled in February 2008, the four stations, made by Timberform Equipment, sit at Second Street, Eighth Street, Pier Avenue and Gould Avenue. Pictured is the fitness station on Pier Avenue, where joggers can stretch after a three-mile run.
