Since 1966, Vans has been an iconic maker of skate shoes, apparel and accessories.
Its Vans Off the Wall store in Hermosa Beach offers a huge selection of Vans shoes and apparel for men, women and children. This store also features skateboard decks, trucks, wheels and other skating accessories.

The building's checkered wall emulates the brands slip on shoes with a similar checkered design.
As reported by Patch in 2011, the Hermosa Beach Planning Commission on the building depicting a surfer and skateboarder, saying the murals qualified as artworks and not advertising.
