Residents Take Advantage of Shred Day

Residents use city-sponsored opportunity to destroy documents no longer needed.

Last weekend's Shred Day event proved successful, according to a press release from Consolidated Disposal, as over 80 Hermosa Beach residents and business owners took advantage of the event to shred and dispose of potentially sensitive documents.

The event, held in the morning on April 28, was co-sponsored by the Hermosa Beach Community Garden and Consolidated Disposal, a subsidiary of Republic Services, as well as the city. Approximately 4,580 pounds of paper were shredded. The shred was then baled and sent to be recycled into new paper products.
