Run, Walk, Hit, Swing, Party in Hermosa this Weekend

Beach tennis anyone? How about a fundraiser for the entire family? Hermosa Beach is home to lots of activities this weekend.

There's lots going on in Hermosa Beach this weekend, with a fundraising party to cure kids' cancer, a pier-to-pier run/walk, some beach tennis action and opening day for Little League.

Started in 2005, the GI Joe Spring Pier 2 Pier Run/Walk begins in Hermosa at the pier, goes to the Manhattan Beach Pier and then back to the HB Pier. This year's event takes place Saturday beginning at 7 a.m. The Retro Run, in which participants run backwards, begins at 8:15 a.m.

The events are for all ages, you can run/walk solo or as teams of 3, 4, 5, 10 and 15, you can have your photo taken at the finish line, there's an after-party at Cantina Real, prizes and more. Fees range from $15 to $338.
