Updated: Santa Evening Postponed Due to Rain

Jolly ol' Saint Nick and his crew will visit six Hermosa Beach neighborhoods for free photos and fun.

Kids in Hermosa Beach will get to visit with Santa Wednesday, Dec. 19 (the date has been changed due to expected rain on Dec. 12) when the man in red takes his sleigh out for six neighborhood visits, including a sto on Pier Plaza.

Escorted by the Hermosa Beach Police and Fire departments, Santa will spend 20 minutes at each stop, where he will take photos with residents waiting to meet him.

Here is Santa's schedule for Wednesday, Dec. 19:

  • 6-6:20 p.m.--6th and Hollowell
  • 6:30- 6:50 p.m.--Prospect and 8th Street
  • 7-7:20 p.m.--1500 block of Bonnie Brae
  • 7:30-7:50 p.m.--2000 block of Hillcrest Avenue
  • 8-8:20 p.m.--1500 block of Golden Avenue
  • 8:30-8:50 p.m.--Pier Plaza

Santa's neighborhood visits are possible due to Hermosa Beach Neighborhood Watch, and Hermosa Beach's fire, police and public works departments.

Tracy Hopkins of HBNW said last Wednesday's turn out was almost double the turnout of last year. "The weather was beautiful and many hearts were warmed by the sights and sounds of Santa, his sleigh and all his helpers," she said.

Said HBNW Block Captain Dyan Kaufman, "Love Santa and our wonderful cops and firemen. Go HB!"

Said HB resident Alex Nuttall-Smith, "Please thank everyone! The turn out was amazing!... Please extend our gratitude to such an amazing community outreach."

Check out the photos from Santa's neighborhood visits last Wednesday and be sure to upload yours from last Wednesday's or tonight's visits.
