The boat parade started in 1963 with just a handful of residents decorating their boats but attracted hundreds of boaters in its 50th year on Saturday.

I'd like to say thank you for the Boat Parade. I've attended the last 21 years, and I was a bit disappointed this year... the 50th! The boats were lovely, as always... but it was too quiet. It's so much more festive when there is music blasting from the boats. At least every other boat should have music on it. Another thing that was discussed among us last night is the time it takes for boats to turn around. Can't you make the turning distance shorter, or space them better? I heard some boats were going down the different fingers, which would definitely make the turnaround even longer. Nice for the peeps on 'those' fingers, but for most people watching from the channel, it spaced it out too much. Ok... I'm finished with my critique. Again... thank you for the Boat Parade. It always adds to the festivities in the Marina. :))
