What do you plan to do for Thanksgiving? We plan to stay here. My husband is going to cook the turkey, and we're going to have a few friends over who decided to stay in town as well.

What's your favorite Thanksgiving dish? It's got to be one of the sides: mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, stuffing. It's too hard to pick, but definitely one of the sides.

What do you look forward to most when Thanksgiving arrives next week? I think just being home with everybody, my husband having a couple days off to spend with us... [and] that little pause during the holidays to talk about what you are thankful for.

What is your favorite Thanksgiving memory? It's the best meal of the year. So, just thinking back to my mom making a Thanksgiving dish every year, and looking forward to the food every year.

Have you ever had Thanksgiving here in Hermosa? We had it last year in Manhattan Beach because I was so pregnant with my daughter so we couldn't travel. It was the first time we got out of traveling to our families and we could actually have our own family tradition. So that's what last year was, our first Thanksgiving tradition with our family, not with our parents.

It was really special.

It was kind of combining my family traditions, [my husband] Jeff's family traditions, and how we want our son, who's two—she wasn't born yet (motions to daughter's stroller)—what traditions we want to impose on him.  And of course you have to say what recipes from what families are going into merging recipes for Thanksgiving dinner.
