The U.S. Youth Volleyball League starts spring season.

Hermosa Beach youngsters start volleyball practice this week, a local author shares pasta recipes, and Hermosa Beach sees fiddlers at the Playhouse.

Hermosa Beach Youth Volleyball

Practice for this spring’s U.S. Youth Volleyball League program in Hermosa Beach spiked into action Monday. will continue on Mondays and Wednesdays at South Park until the program ends in June.

Young athletes between 7 and 15 years old who participate in the program will have a chance to learn and play volleyball. No prior experience is required to join in the fun.

Parents can learn more about how to get their young athletes involved for future programs at the Youth Volleyball League’s website. The group is also in need of volunteer coaches.

Pasta at Pages

Local chef and author Linda Steidel will be promoting her new cookbook For Every Season There is a Pasta at Pages bookstore in neighboring Manhattan Beach on Thursday at 7 p.m. will include a cooking demonstration.

Fiddlers in Hermosa

Families are invited to at the Hermosa Beach Playhouse on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. The Scottish Fiddlers of Los Angeles will perform with dancer Amy Hurwitz, piper Matt Mauldin and singer Christina Tappan. Tickets cost $10 and children under 12 are free.
