It's Time For Tim Donnelly for CA Governor

The Buckley Rule.

That's what it is all about for me.

Yes, voters have to be pragmatic.

I would never have voted for Christine O'Donnell in Delaware. She was unprepared, disorganized, and let's be blunt -- incompetent.

That was 2010, and the TEA Party movement was stretching its wings and learning to fly. There were some grand successes (the House of Representatives), and there were some missteps (like Delaware)

I can hold my nose for a liberal Republican (or an Independent) if there is no viable conservative Republican available.

With the success of Ben Saase for US Senate in Nebraska, though, the TEA Party principles are not down or out in 2014. He is going to win that seat, and Ted Cruz, along with Rand Paul and Mike Lee, will have some extra red meat, raw power to punch back and stop the federalized pillaging of the statewide and country village.

TEA Party principles are in full force in Nebraska, and those principles should not be discarded in California.

As far as I'm concerned, the opinions of an Establishment, or a media machine, or the fretting concerns of politicians local or federal should not command any respect.

I am tired of putting aside most of my values so that a some-time candidate can win.

When Abel Maldonado announced his run for governor, I did not care, although I honored the fact that he had done what he could as a state senator, plus his rich heritage as a businessman and a farmer.

When he announced his suspension, I was so shocked I actually called CA GOP Chairman Jim Brulte myself to make sure that it was true. He confirmed it, then also confirmed his partisan neutrality on the governor' race between Kashkari and Donnelly.

Respectable to his word (now if only Jim will give back the union money. . .)

So, who should be the next governor of California?

Jerry Brown created much of the mess which the state faces today. From granting collective bargaining rights to public sector employees (even President Jimmy Carter refused to do that for federal employees) and his over-the-top mandatory minimum sentencing provisions, and now his failed policies to protect the environment while ignoring the needs of farmers (and urban dwellers), Brown is making California down on its luck.

It's time for real grassroots leadership in California.

It's time for Tim Donnelly.

He shredded a Sacramento budget on camera and it went viral on YouTube. He knows that fiscal discipline matters, and he takes his message right to the voters.

He has lead the fight for children abused in the state foster care system.

Donnelly has widespread support from all Californians.

He rejected drivers licenses for illegals because the law creates a level of second class citizens. He also vocally opposed Jerry Brown's DREAM Act, citing outrage not just from Anglo residents but also Hispanics

Brown and the Democrats in California are taking advantage of Hispanics as opposed to granting them opportunities to take advantage of their skills (as with all Californians) to succeed.

Donnelly is not an Establishment favorite (whatever Establishment means at this point).

Congressman Darrell Issa endorsed Kashkari. That's too bad. I forgive Issa and wish him the best as he takes down Obama and his scandals.

Condoleeza Rice endorsed Kash-n-Kari. Too bad. I esteem Rice's service to our country, but she is wrong on this one.

Former California Governor Pete Wilson just signed on to Kashkari's campaign. He has no business making endorsements anymore, in my opinion. He is a political figure from a former time. It's time for conservatives and political activists to move on. Endorsements are going to have less of an impact as long as political figures inside the Beltway or along Main Street insight on protecting their own interests rather than promoting the best candidates for the state and their cities.

Donnelly even paid a visit to the South Bay in 2012. He called out the union dominance in Sacramento, advocated calling in retired reserve public safety officials if that is the only way to control the pension problems in our state.

He stood up to law enforcement when they tried to prevent him from speaking to his Congressman.

Jerry Brown? He's an old retread! (Townhall.com)He was not afraid to talk about the Bill of Right, and thus our rights, either.

He has a misdemeanor record because of carrying a concealed firearm. At this period of time in American political history, who doesn't? With all the laws trying to prescribe the Second Amendment, of course, it's getting harder to keep and bear arms without a fine or a jail sentence. Even John and Ken tried to get Donnelly in trouble over that issue, but it didn't work.

There are other foibles which media outlets and leftists will want to exploit. Those smear campaigns are becoming less effective, as California residents witness the rise of crime in their cities (thanks for the realignment, Jerry!) as well as the depleted funding in their schools, the high price of water, and the bullet train in the Central Valley wasting millions, and not counting the other express train, of jobs and wealth out of the state of California -- another great political ad, Team Donnelly!

The state of California needs leaders who respond to the needs of all Californians, not just to the left-wing LA-SF phalanx (which is failing all of us, even the residents of LA and SF).

I support Tim Donnelly for Governor, and I hope that more voters (even Democrats) do the same in June and November.
