Valley students start the weekend with a flag ceremony, and local families can visit Redondo or Hollywood this weekend.

Families can celebrate the arts and stars this weekend with a loving performance at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center or a quick trip to Hollywood. Here are three things happening this weekend in the Beach Cities.

Flag Ceremony

students will be starting their Friday with a special flag ceremony from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. There will be no school next week.

She Loves Me

The Civic Light Opera of South Bay Cities is presenting the fun-to-watch, romantic comedy at the nearby Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center on Tuesday through Saturday weekly at 8 p.m. Tickets cost $45 to $60.

The city is hosting a for local families to enjoy. Participants will be transported to the Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum then treated to lunch at the Hamlet restaurant. The final stop of the trip is at the newly renovated Griffith Observatory. Tickets for residents cost $47.
