The Hermosa Beach Community Center is the source of today's picture - it's one of the decorations that repeat around the top of the building.
We wanted to feature the Community Center, since it's not only home to our lovely Historical Museum, but it's also where the Surf Film Festival is happening tonight.
And your guest editor just heard today that the center was once the site of the local junior high school. But then, most of you probably already knew that.
