5 Key Pieces for the Holiday Season

Here are five key pieces I’d like to give or receive this holiday season, and how to mix and match them.

I always say that getting dressed is like making the best stew with the least amount of ingredients.

Here are five key pieces I’d like to give or receive this holiday season, and how to mix and match them:

1.) One of fall’s biggest trends is a cropped car coat, and Alexander Wang definitely brings it with his moleskin reefer jacket. This is a no-brainer, grab-and-go piece that will take you from the market to the movies to happy hour in style. Wear this jacket and you’re bound to look chic even when you aren’t really trying!

2.) First there were skinny jeans which eventually morphed into jeggings. Now jeggings have evolved into these turn-every-outfit-cool, wax-coated leggings. These J Brand skinnies look like liquid leather, so go ahead and pour yourself into them. Paired with the right accessories, they can take you from a casual brunch to a holiday soiree. By day, pair them with sandals or flats. By night, rock them with booties or sky high stilettos. Throw on your Alexander Wang moleskin jacket (wish list item numero uno) with a long blouse and you’ve got an instantly chic, effortless look.

3.) Nothing says "care, don’t care" like this Elizabeth and James chiffon printed maxi dress. This may seem dressy and, sure, it’s cute to wear to your holiday fetes, but to mix things up a bit, I’d suggest pairing it with your Alexander Wang moleskin coat and a pair of ballet flats. Suddenly, you’ll be able to go anywhere in it! I’m giving you permission to slip into this maxi and NEVER take it off. Shake up the way you’d normally style it and see what happens!

4.) Who wouldn’t want to trade Santa a few cookies and a glass of milk for this nude Valentino Rockstud handbag? Nude is your answer for feeling taller, slimmer, and more modern. This is another grab-and-go item to pair with the killer wardrobe staples above.

5.) Last year my clients and I began buying Camilla Skoovgaard wedge ankle boots. We likened it to Herman Munster dipped in chocolate! So comfy, so wrong but so right! If your outfit doesn’t have one off-the-beaten-path item thrown in, it needs to! Pair these with the printed Elizabeth and James maxi dress to add an edgy vibe to an otherwise feminine look.

Freedom is based on a sure identity, that I know who I am, but more importantly WHOSE I am. WhenRead More the LORD sent Moses to deliver His people, that was the beginning of their liberty. They were a particular people to the LORD, whose name is better understand as "He who was, is, and always will be." Not a god made of stone or wood, but the One who made, makes, and evermore makes and gives to us: the LORD took Israel by the hand and led them from bondage to slavery. Not who you are, but whose you are, makes all the difference between bondage and liberty: "For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father." (Romans 8: 15) Have you been adopted yet? "

Don't sell it until after Wednesday night. I'm going to buy a lottery ticket right now.
