No New Power Plant Rally

We need your support!  NOW is the time to show our opposition to another 50 years of re-industrialization on our waterfront. 2012 will be the defining year for the future of AES Redondo, and the South Bay's support or opposition to their plans to rebuild a new power plant here will be the determining factor.  AES will file their application with the California Energy Commission to license a new power plant in Redondo and will also bid for a long-term contract with the California Public Utilities Commission and Southern California Edison to provide power to California.  All in 2012!

Please join us at the No Power Plant Rally on January 21st from 12-1:00 PM on the corner of PCH and Herondo to oppose plans for a new polluting power plant in Redondo Beach.  We’ll have signs available, and there is plenty of free parking on Herondo/190th.  A new power plant is incompatible with our densely populated waterfront, marring the community and exposing us to substantial increase in pollution.  This plant is also unnecessary according to the agency that maintains the reliability of the electrical grid in California.

Please tell your friends and also ask them to sign the No New Power Plant petition at www.nopowerplant.com.
