Food Network Personality Adam Gertler and Chef & Restaurateur Keith Gertler to Headline Pop-Up Dinner at Shade Hotel in Manhattan Beach

Food Network personality Adam Gertler, who has appeared on “Food Network Star,” “Kid in a Candy Store,” “Will Work for Food,” and “The Best Thing I Ever Ate,” among other shows, will headline with his chef/restaurateur brother Keith Gertler at Shade Hotel in Manhattan Beach for one night only, Sunday, July 8, for a Pop-Up Dinner. The Gertler brothers, who are looking for a permanent home in Los Angeles’ South Bay area for their gastropub barbecue-inspired restaurant concept, Gertler’s Kitchen, will work in partnership with the Shade’s Executive Chef Chris Garasic to welcome in-the-know foodies to a four-course dinner paired with local craft beers from El Segundo Brewing Company and Strand Brewing Company.

“The Gertler brothers are young and talented and will turn out an incredible meal for our guests,” said Michael Zislis, owner of Shade Hotel. “We are excited to welcome them to Manhattan Beach and to have the opportunity to present such an extraordinary event to our friends in the South Bay community.”

The four-course menu will begin with salmon rillettes with smoked salmon, crème fraiche and herbs; mom’s chopped liver with poached quail egg, pickled onions and crispy chicken skin; and smokey eggplant dip with brioche toasts and pickled peppers. The second course includes both a house-made pastrami sausage served on rye bread with Thousand Island dressing and sauerkraut; grilled calamari salad with Thai basil, lemongrass, chilies and rice noodles; and a chicken kielbasa with strand ale caramelized onions and coarse grain mustard served with garlic dill pickles. The third course features whole smoked lamb shoulder with rosemary flat bread, salted cucumbers, herbed yogurt and roasted red peppers; chick pea fitter with crisp harissa; and heirloom white beans with chilled, diced tomato and grated feta. The fourth and final course includes sangria soaked watermelon slices and double chocolate mini cupcakes.  The meal will be presented family- style with each item plated to serve four people.
