Gas Prices Rise, Cheapest Exceeds $4 a Gallon

As gas prices continue to soar, the county average for regular self-serve gasoline is $4.17, which is about the rate seen in Hermosa Beach.

With the price of regular gasoline rising here in Los Angeles County for the 20th consecutive day Monday, it has become the highest since Aug. 7, 2008, according to reports.

The county average for a gallon of regular self-serve gas is about $4.17. And these high gas prices have hit Hermosa Beach, with even the cheapest gas in town exceeding $4.

"Prices are jumping by more than a penny a day, which is close to the pace of a price spike, and at the moment, they don't show any signs of slowing down,'' said Marie Montgomery of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
