Gas Prices Go Back Up, Again

The cheapest gas in Hermosa Beach is $4.27, according to listings.

Even though gas prices dropped slightly following news of Monday, the cost to fill up now is back on the rise.

The average price of regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose six-tenths of a cent Tuesday, hitting $4.283, City News Service reported.

This new average marks the 40th increase in gas prices local drivers have seen in 42 days and is about 34 cents less than the record high of $4.626 set on June 21, 2008.

The average price of regular gas now is 5.3 cents higher than it was one week ago, 20.8 cents greater than one month ago, and $1.156 above what it was one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
