Gas Prices Go Up in Hermosa

Across Southern California, gas prices have shot upward by double digits, according to figures from the AAA.

A sudden spike in gas prices this week has hit Southern California, and numbers at the pumps in Hermosa Beach are no different.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gas in Los Angeles County was recorded Friday as $3.996, marking the largest daily increase seen since February of last year and the highest amount since June 7, according to City News Service reports.

"If prices continue to increase at this pace, most areas will have averages above $4 a gallon in the next few week," said Auto Club of Southern California spokesperson Jeffrey Spring in a statement.
