Gas Prices Lowest Since February

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County is $3.713.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County fell Tuesday for the 12th consecutive day to $3.713—the lowest price since Feb. 26.

The average price is 6.8 cents less than it was last week and 9.8 cents lower than it was last month at this time; however, it's still 56.7 cents higher than it was last time at this time, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

Analysts say the lower price of crude oil is responsible for the declining prices at the pump; however, crude oil prices have been increasing over the last four trading days.

Crude oil costs account for up to three-quarters of the price of a gallon of gasoline, according to Tupper Hull of the Western States Petroleum Association.
