'Girls Night,' Local Author Coming to First Thursdays

A "Girls Night Out," children's book reading, and special sales hit downtown Thursday.

Another  shopping extravaganza is scheduled to take place Thursday night from 5 to 9 p.m. in downtown Hermosa Beach.

There will be live acoustic music outdoors, a bounce house on Pier Plaza for children, and, of course, many sales. 

will organize a "Girls Night Out," offering 20 percent off all jewelry and scarves in the shop as well as complimentary blood orange margaritas.

Shoppers can continue accessorizing at , where there will be 30 percent off all clothes and 20 percent off jewelry and purses as well as complimentary refreshments.

Local author James Daos will read and sign his Ants on the Rainbow children's book series at . Readings are scheduled for 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. There will be popcorn for the young audience and refreshments for parents—plus, in-store specials.

Also in celebration of First Thursdays,  will pay shoppers' sales tax.

The downtown fun doesn't stop Thursday, there will be a  later this month, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m Saturday, Aug. 20, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21.
