Landmark Hermosa: Chamber of Commerce

If you guessed the Hermosa Beach Chamber of Commerce for this morning's trivia, you were right.

The this year celebrates its 100th anniversary, executive director Maureen Hunt announced in January.

The chamber was established in 1912 and has remained active ever since, according to the  book Hermosa   Beach by Chris Miller and Jerry Roberts, which adds that to celebrate the year of its inception, the chamber once organized a festival called "1912 Days."

During the annual , local businesses sold items for the price tag they would have had in 1912—for example, a glass of beer was only 5 cents, a cup of coffee was a nickel, and a haircut would cost 20 cents.
