Landmark Hermosa: Good Stuff

If you guessed Good Stuff on the Strand as the answer to this morning's trivia, you were right.

has been a part of Southern California since 1979, when it was founded by Cris Bennett as a small burger stand in West Los Angeles then expanded to here in the Beach Cities, opening its Hermosa Beach location.

Before the restaurant offered burgers and the like on the Strand in Hermosa Beach, another local landmark did the same: Juicy James.

Juicy James sat a block north of the Hermosa Beach Pier on the Strand, according to Hermosa Beach Historical Society archives.

Many locals remember gathering at Juicy James, which was the local hangout, similar to Good Stuff now.

Hermosa Beach Woman of the Year Corinne Ybarra that one of her cherished memories growing up in Hermosa was eating hamburgers at Juicy James after a day at the beach.
