Who Pours the Most Guinness in Hermosa on St. Patrick's Day?

With three Irish bars in Hermosa Beach's Pier Plaza alone, the Guinness flows in massive quantities on St. Patrick's Day.

With the Hermosa Beach St. Patrick's Day parade on Saturday and the parade's holiday namesake on Sunday, the three Irish-themed restaurants on Pier Plaza will see plenty of Guinness Irish stout flow from their taps on their busiest weekend of the year.

But, out of the three bars – Patrick Molloys, Hennessey's and Fat Face Fenner's Fishack – who pours the most Guinness?

Comparing the number of kegs ordered at each bar, Henessey's Hermosa Beach takes the crown for most Guinness sold on St. Patrick's Day.

According to Hennessey's general manager Christian Delahaza, the restaurant will go through 35 kegs of the creamy dark stout this weekend, or, approximately 4,300 standard pints. That should keep the estimated 1,200 people who are expected to visit the bar each day happy, Delahaza said.

"It is absolutely the biggest day of the year for us," Delahaza added. "We open at 7 a.m. and by 9 a.m. we are already packed."

A few doors down the plaza, Patrick Molloys employees were busy taping up Guinness shamrock decorations on Thursday ahead of the weekend.

Patrick Molloys general manager Chris Saufua said that his bar also goes through a sizable amount of Guinness and has ordered 20 kegs (about 2,600 pints) of the beer for St. Patrick's Day.

Across the plaza, Fat Face Fenner's Fishack bar manager Juan Guerrero said he has also ordered 20 kegs of Guinness and expects to sell it all. Guerrero said the bar has changed the taps around to make sure Guinness is on four taps at once.

"One tap is not enough," Guerrero said. "It is one of the biggest days of the year."
