E&B Sidious — at your parade

Corporate lobbying by E&B Natural Resources at our St. Patrick's Day Parade.

An excerpt from my blog: drnurture.com --

My cordial invite to view Hermosa Beach’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade from E&B’s corporate offices spurred my inner activist.  We are watching an insidious effort to establish their corporation as a “community resource.”  An invitation that describes a “perfect location” for face-painting my children prompts visions of large drilling trucks tearing up Valley Drive.

South Park, a “perfect location” for my children to play, will be just 500 feet away from machines demolishing the proposed drilling site.  I worry about the dust and harmful emissions my children will be exposed to as they play in South Park.   The “truck hauling route” passes right by my home and my children’s 2nd favorite place to play (the beach is 1st of course).

Drilling to occur 24 hours per day, 7 days per week

Don’t forget:  Construction of off-site pipelines for the processed oil ( 3.5 miles) and natural gas (0.5 miles).  When I moved my family to Hermosa Beach, the only “pipeline” that crossed my brain was in the surf; not one transporting crude oil.

N.B.  I am an Irish Italian Jersey girl so St. Patrick's Day parades fall in the realm of sacred to me.
