Amy Keller Named to Top LABioMed Position

Hermosa Beach resident Amy Keller recently joined the Los Angeles Biomedical Research Institute at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center as the assistant vice president of development. In her role, she will help build a culture of philanthropy at the institute, according to a press release.

“Amy will play a key role in helping to create the philanthropic culture that will be instrumental to sustaining LA BioMed’s continued success,” said Rodney D. Franks, LA BioMed vice president for development. “Her experience in development and knowledge of working with non-profits will help us to develop, implement and lead a progressive plan for philanthropic growth that will ensure the research enterprise can achieve its mission of advancing the pace of discovery.”

Prior to joining LA BioMed, Keller was chief development officer for Smart Science Education Inc., where she was instrumental in securing strategic relationships with business partners, international educators and leaders in the field of science, technology and higher education. She also worked with schools and corporate teams to establish partnerships that fit a corporation’s objectives and goals for philanthropic sponsorship.

Keller's background includes positions as the director of development for the American Red Cross, senior director for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and a political fundraiser for more than six years. 

Keller and her husband, Edward, live in Hermosa Beach. She is an active member of the philanthropic organizations Sandpipers, Junior League of Los Angeles, AthletesTouch, 310YPO, Echoes of Hope, PRUSA and VHL Cancer Research Foundation.
