Are 'Quiet Nights' Coming to Hermosa Beach?

An initiative to make bars and restaurants close earlier than 2 a.m. will be on the Nov. 5 ballot.

Resident Jim Lissner's "Quiet Nights" initiative is one step closer to reality after securing enough signature to put the measure on the Nov. 5 ballot.

The initiative aims to make "last call" at bars and restaurants in the city earlier than the standard 2 a.m. Under the measure, the businesses would be required to close by midnight Sunday through Wednesday and by 1 a.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The intriguing idea brought CBS cameras to Pier Plaza Friday night for a report from Brittney Hopper. See it here.

What do you think of the "Quiet Nights" initiative?
