Riviera Village and the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce are both conducting sidewalk sales this weekend. Downtown Manhattan Beach merchants began their sale on Friday and will resume throughout the weekend. The sale runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. For more information, call 310-545-5313.

Merchants in Redondo Beach's Riviera Village are also taking to the sidewalks over the weekend in hopes of ringing up back-to-school purchases and more. Look for the sale signs this weekend.

Paddle over to Manhattan Beach

Ocean racers will take to the water in Catalina and paddle as fast as they can to the Manhattan Beach pier early Sunday in the 32-mile Catalina Classic Paddleboard Championship. The fastest competitor is expected to arrive at the Manhattan Beach pier around 11 a.m.

Concerts, free and otherwise

Eric Lindell will take to the stage with Chuck Alvarez as a guest at Saint Rocke on Saturday at 9 p.m.  Tickets cost $12.

There will be two free outdoor concerts on Sunday. The  Tom Nolan Band will perform at Polliwog Park in Manhattan Beach from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. And at the Hermosa Beach pier, Tyrone Wells will perform with guest Chris Pierce at 5:30 p.m. as part of the summer sunset concert series.
