Do The Art Walk This Weekend in Hermosa Beach

Hermosa Beach artist Ben Junta's work will be on display this weekend at the Hermosa Beach Art Walk along with nearly 100 others who applied and were selected by a committee.

The annual event takes place on the lawn outside the Hermosa Beach Community Center, at the corner of Pacific Coast Highway and Pier Avenue. The art walk includes music, food, and arts and crafts for children. Dogs are welcome.

The art walk began as a walk in 2002 by local artist Ken Klade as an art exhibition designed to promote arts education and appreciation. It was first staged on Thursday nights in May, June and July on the sidewalks of upper Pier Avenue in the downtown area. When the art walk moved to its current location in 2008, it turned into a Saturday event. In 2009, it became a two-day weekend event.

The 2013 Hermosa Beach Art Walk takes place Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Kids' activities will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
