Flight Delays, Cancellations Ongoing at LAX

Eight flights between Los Angeles International Airport and San Francisco, where an Asiana Airlines jetliner crashed Saturday, were canceled Monday, while long delays were reported on others.

There were 109 flights scheduled between the two cities Monday, and they were averaging delays of about two and a half hours, according to LAX spokeswoman Nancy Castles.

She noted that bad weather also caused delays averaging two hours for flights departing LAX for Detroit, Newark and Philadelphia.

Passengers should call their airlines, check flight status online, or sign up for email notifications regarding possible canceled flights, Castles said.
