Labor Day Closings, Changes Set

In observance of the federal holiday, Hermosa Beach City Hall will be closed as well as banks and post offices. Here are other closings or changes to be mindful of.

In observance of Labor Day, all municipal offices, banks and post offices will be closed Monday.

The American stock market will be closed, but most foreign markets will be open.

There will be no street sweeping and no trash pickup on Monday. Collections for the remainder of that week will be delayed one day.

With the exception of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day, all parking meters are still enforced in Hermosa Beach on national holidays.

 will be closed on Monday.  and  schools will be closed. 

All schools in the Manhattan Beach Unified School District and Redondo Beach Unified School District will be closed. 

Since Fiesta Hermosa will shut down parts of Hermosa Avenue on Labor Day, Beach Cities Transit buses will operate along designated Metro bus stops on PCH. Here is the detour route, according to the Beach Cities Transit website:

Northbound Line 109 from Harbor Drive (Redondo Beach)

• Right on Herondo Avenue
• Left on Pacific Coast Hwy
• Left on Gould Avenue
• Right on Manhattan Avenue
• Resume Line 109 route

Southbound Line 109 from Manhattan Avenue (Manhattan Beach)

• Left on Gould Avenue
• Right on Pacific Coast Hwy
• Right on Herondo Avenue
• Left on Harbor Drive
• Resume Line 109 route

Beach Cities Transit follows a Saturday service schedule on Labor Day.
