Hermosa Beach Sister City Association Biennial Auction

For the past twenty years, the Hermosa Beach Sister City Association has held a biennial live auction (with the last one in 2010) to provide the necessary support to keep the Hermosa Beach Sister City programs alive and well.  This year's event will be Sunday, October 7th, 2012.

The Sister City Program was initiated by President Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1956. It is a grass-roots approach to securing peace around the world through the establishment of personal, people-to-people friendships between Americans and the people of other nations.

Since 1967, the city of Loreto, Baja California Mexico has been Hermosa's Sister City. The Hermosa Beach Sister City Association is a charitable, nonprofit organization that collects and disburses funds to promote friendship and understanding between the citizens of our two cities.

Our charitable work would grind to a stop without the support of local businesses, residents and community friends. The funds we raise support the student cultural exchange program and other projects such as providing eyeglasses for school children in Loreto, and assist the Loreto fire department in building a professional paramedic service.

Tickets to the event include a chance at the grand prize drawing for $500, $300 and $200 in cash!
