Fifth grade teacher interview

teacer at HVS

We interviewed Mrs. Weaver, a 5th grade teacher at Hermosa Valley, and learned a lot more about Weaver’s World and her teaching curriculum.

“I enjoy teaching because I love to see the smile on my students faces when they succeed. My favorite subject to teach is writing because I enjoy the challenge of improving my students’ ability to write.” Mrs. Weaver replied cheerfully.  As a teacher, her responsibilities include grading, coming up with creative ideas, a ton of planning to make the day as fun as possible, teaching to (and even above) the standards, and understanding the parents’ and children’s needs. Seeing that this is Mrs. Weaver’s second year at HVS, we asked her how she likes our school.  She said, “I love this school a lot. The families are so supportive and full of creative ideas.”

“I absolutely love both of my first 2 classes at HVS, but they are very different.  My class last year had a lot of different characters and personalities. This year my class is very sweet and focused.”  Weaver’s World economy has been simplified but not much has changed.  A lot in her class has changed.  Her walls are filled with her student’s projects, posters, and writings.

As a response to being a mother, Mrs. Weaver replied, “It’s the best experience of my life and I would never change it. It was hard to come back to work after almost 2 months off, but my sweet class made it much easier.”  Some of her favorite things to do over breaks from school are spending time with her family outdoors and seeing her old/new students.
