There was a clinic last Monday to learn cheers with Palos Verdes High School cheerleaders. To be a cheerleader you need to have good grades, enthusiasm, good school spirit, and homeroom teacher approval.

Word has it that the school used to have a cheerleading team before. Mrs. Murphy says, "We wanted to do this because we were cheerleaders in high school."

Once students become cheerleaders they meet once a week and attend home games. You had to apply to tryout by Sept. 23; you also had to make up your own cheers to tryout.

You found out if you had made the squad on Oct. 4. You have to buy your own uniform. PV cheerleaders judged who had made it on the cheer squad. Good luck to all the girls who made the squad. Go Dolphins!
