Hermosa Valley Journalism Class Nears End

Sean Goodbody, a Hermosa Valley School student, writes about new electives that begin for sixth graders on Nov. 5.

Editor’s Note: Hermosa Valley School’s sixth grade journalism class is using the Patch blog to post some of their work under the guidance of teacher Christine Duclos.

By Sean Goodbody

The first quarter of the sixth grade journalism class is almost over.

The class started on Aug. 31 and it will be over on Nov. 4. The second quarter will begin on Nov. 5, when the students in journalism will go to either art, computers, or tech.

Mrs. Duclos, the journalism teacher, says "Yes, I’m excited about the new students, but I hope they are as good as my first quarter class."

A lot of kids have opinions about the class, like Alex Jones who said, "I think it is a good class that teaches good skills."

I personally am sad that the class is ending but I am excited for the future!

Freedom is based on a sure identity, that I know who I am, but more importantly WHOSE I am. WhenRead More the LORD sent Moses to deliver His people, that was the beginning of their liberty. They were a particular people to the LORD, whose name is better understand as "He who was, is, and always will be." Not a god made of stone or wood, but the One who made, makes, and evermore makes and gives to us: the LORD took Israel by the hand and led them from bondage to slavery. Not who you are, but whose you are, makes all the difference between bondage and liberty: "For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father." (Romans 8: 15) Have you been adopted yet? "
