Rasmussen Begins as new Interim Superintendent

Jessie Courts and Chirawan Murphy, Hermosa Valley School students, interview the school district's new Superintendent Dr. Rasmussen.

Editor’s Note: Hermosa Valley School’s sixth grade journalism class is using the Patch blog to post some of their work under the guidance of teacher Christine Duclos.

By Jessie Courts and Chirawan Murphy

While interviewing Dr. Alan Rasmussen, our school’s superintendent, we quickly learned he is familiar with our school.

Dr. Rasmussen has been our superintendent in some of the past years.

He said that it is wonderful to be back, because he really likes the students, the community, and enjoys returning to the beach.

After hearing Hermosa Valley School was in need of a new superintendent he remembered all the fun memories the school brought to him.

He was convinced he could make a change and help out our school while making a positive impact in our district.

One of the things he loves about our school is that the students and staff are able to form close and comfortable relationships.

This interview has given us an idea about how our school looks from a different point of view.

Freedom is based on a sure identity, that I know who I am, but more importantly WHOSE I am. WhenRead More the LORD sent Moses to deliver His people, that was the beginning of their liberty. They were a particular people to the LORD, whose name is better understand as "He who was, is, and always will be." Not a god made of stone or wood, but the One who made, makes, and evermore makes and gives to us: the LORD took Israel by the hand and led them from bondage to slavery. Not who you are, but whose you are, makes all the difference between bondage and liberty: "For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father." (Romans 8: 15) Have you been adopted yet? "
