Snowboard Injuries and School

Hermosa Valley School student Aidan Leslein describes his snowboarding accident and injury.

On February 23, 2012, Aidan Leslein was snowboarding with Calvin Tiernan in Mammoth when he fell and broke his wrist. After he boarded down to Ski Patrol, they put his right arm in a sling and contacted his parents.

His parents then got their car and carefully drove to the Mammoth Mountain Emergency Room. There they took X-rays and gave him medicine. After six hours, the doctors informed them he would need a cast.

But, due to a small abrasion on his arm, they gave him a stitch, a wrap-around consisting of multiple layers of padding, instead in fear of his cut getting infected. Then, his parents drove and got his medication.

Aidan now has his cast and is back at school. He can do many things with his broken wrist such as write and play games. He is doing well and is acting like it never happened.

P.S. Thanks to the Mammoth Ski Patrol and Mammoth Emergency Room for treating him so well!
