Lemonade for Science
Over spring break Brooke Smith and her good friend Annalisa Pangaro set up a lemonade stand by South Park. The money earned was going to the Hermosa Valley Science Lab. These two girls raised forty dollars within one hour, but because it was a Monday all of the usual weekend park goers were at work, so the girls probably could have earned more. The lemonade went for 25 to 50 cents, but most customers paid more than the amount due. When the money was handed in Ms. Duclos was in for a surprise. She said the girls could have the privilege of choosing the equipment for the science lab with the money they earned. Brooke Smith comments,”I hope to raise more money in the future.”
