Mrs. Escalante

Mrs. Escalante

Today in journalism we interviewed Mrs. Escalante, our superintendent of the Hermosa Beach School District. She has had this job for 2 years. She is the woman on top, she is the one to make sure we have the best teachers and enough money to pay them to work here. Mrs. Escalante says it requires some skills to be a superintendent,” Number one is working well with others,” taking others advice into thought. “ Number two is having a sense of humor,” which would also go along with number three,”  and don’t be so gullible, ass in not taking everything so seriously. “ Last but not least is putting yourself in others position. If you have all of these qualities and experience at schools,  would consider this job.

She stold us some positive things about her job. Mrs. Escalante's favorite part about school is having her office on campus; not many superintendents can say they have an on campus office. She loves to hear all of the students having fun on the field, talking, playing sports, and playing games!  Mrs Escalante would definatly recomend this job and if you're prepared for all the hard work that really pays off. It is a great way to grow and try new things.

Mrs. Escalante went to college at USC and earned her masters at university of La Verne. When she has time, traveling is one of her many hobbies; she has been to Europe, Paris, and Canada. She loves to spend time with her two year old grandson, her mom, and her two sons Matt and Michael. I really enjoyed interviewing Mrs. Escalante!
