The community is invited to stop by the Hermosa Beach Community Garden from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday when a barbecue and fresh vegetables will be served during an open house, said Jeff Duclos, City Council member.
The garden, which has produced an impressive amount of vegetables from three small planting beds, is located in South Park on Valley Drive near Second Street, where the Hermosa Beach Demonstration Garden is. Much of the harvested bounty is given to organizations that can use the food, said Duclos at the May 14th City Council meeting.
The open house will give community members the opportunity to see what has been growing during the past year, as well as the plans for the permanent site.
The park's new master plan will be available as will information on the new play area, which will be the centerpiece of the park in the new master plan.
