Dilana. The term “Badass” seems wildly appropriate.

Just by skimming the quick interview questions and answers from DILANA, it’s easy to tell these 5 things:

1. She is decisive. Most people ramble on about the answer to “Beatles vs. Stones.” She chose Beatles, without humming and hawing and sharing her reasoning.

 2. She is independent. As a solo artist, she does her own thing, while respecting and appreciating others along the way.

 3. She is fearless. Any artist who travels to an area of military unrest in order to entertain deserves to be recognized for bravery. And any young girl who listens to Iron maiden is just a bit tougher than the rest.

 4. She loves her fans to death (inspiring even one person makes it all worth while) but she doesn’t really care what people think.

 5. She’s funny as hell. A lady that uses the term “dead anchovie’s pu--y,” gets attention.

That’s the kind of snarky, weird humor that wins you votes around here.

I’m an indie solo artist and have pick up bands around the world. Been singing pro since age 15..25 years now…wtf?! Hahaha!!

2. WHAT WAS THE FIRST CD YOU EVER BOUGHT? WHY?

I don’t remember…I do remember stealing an Iron Maiden Cd from a store when I was just a kid.

3. WHO IS YOUR BIGGEST MUSICAL INFLUENCE?

No one consciously. I don’t focus on what others have done. I appreciate n respect it instead. I’m sure that there are multiple influences that shine through the cracks without me thinking of it.

Playing for the troops in Afghanistan 2009 and 2010.

Not a single one. No matter how crappy they might be sometimes, I know that there’s at least one soul touched and a lesson learned by me.
