Community to Participate in "Handbags for Hermosa"

The Hermosa Beach MOMS Club is collecting gently used briefcases, computer bags, tote bags, beach bags, purses, and wallets. The items will be donated to a non-profit called T.E.A.M., Inc.

Each month, the Hermosa Beach MOMS Club organizes a community service project and Hermosa Beach residents are encouraged to participate.

Last month, the club held a very successful event for the LA Diaper Drive, a Los Angeles-based organization that provides diapers to low-income families throughout the city.

Now, October’s project is titled "Handbags from Hermosa."

The Gardena-based organization offers educational and supportive services to economically challenged women in need of a fresh start. T.E.A.M., Inc.’s founder, Melanie Moore has created an incentive program for the donated bags.
